Q.U.E.E.N. featuring Erykah Badu

“It’s hard to stop rebels that time travel.  But we at the time council pride ourselves on doing just that.”

“Even if it makes others uncomfortable, I will love who I am.”

“We will create and destroy ten art movements in ten years.”

Hello, I love this woman, okay. 8| (+ super bonus points for futuristic/dystopian themes in her videos/albums, she makes me want to explode into a sparkly rainbow.)

Someone Postede Janelle Monae’s the ArchAndroid in its entirety on YouTube.

I listen to albums from beginning to end (since there’s usually a narrative that way), and this one, in its cover art (something surreal and 70s/early 80s about this image) and presentation of the tracks lends to that sort of experience.  I imagine it’s like a throwback to LPs.  I looped this for like six hours and then got the album the next day.

Yeah, I know I’m a couple of years late to this party, oh well.

Femme Force’s Nerdy Tunes We Love: MC Lars- Space Game

Basically if you like fandoms and rap you should know this song.

Yeah, most of the song’s about sci-fi, Star Wars, and Star Trek, but this got me with:

In the house tonight because of Frank Lloyd Wright
The bass goes “boom!” like dynamite
“Yo, Wright was a modernist!”
Yeah I know that, all right,
But you can’t rhyme “Bob Venturi’ with “dynamite”

(+ Picasso and Warhol references. )

Also MC Lars is a pretty nice guy.  Signed CD and a hug for buying merch and talking about what songs I like, etc. :)

So I donated money during the Evo breast cancer research drive, and I got to pick a Voice Message from one of the Skullgirls cast. I decided to go with peacock, and started to look at some classic cartoon lines she could do. I couldn’t find anything, but then I saw yakko’s world, and knew it needed to be done.

Today I got back the message from Sarah. I was told she wanted to make it perfect, that’s why it took so long, and it really shows. She did that all in one take. I loved it so much i had to show it to all of you.

Now, I have little knowledge on video and audio editing(the only stuff I did was back in Highschool 10 years ago on a Mac), so I cannot work on this. However, I know many of you guys on the internet can. So, if you guys want to take this file and convert it to video, edit it to make it sound more Peacock(the filter), or anything like that, go nuts! I would love to see what you guys can do! Let me know if I actually need to host the file somewhere, or is having it here on Tumblr enough for you to grab it.

The Silver Shining- track # 11 RAY

I cannot post the GCC concert since it exceeds the 5 minutes mark allowance of Tumblr and I can’t find any videos on Youtube of the performance. Except for this leaked DEMO TRACK. Yep. How cool is that? Listening to hyde yodeling in gibberish is just priceless!

Anyhow, this is again one of the least played songs of L’Arc~en~Ciel in their concerts. Totally undeserving for being relegated into the unconsciousness of whoever makes the setlist (which I think is hyde), because really, this song has a great atmosphere- superb vocal arrangement, ethereal music and just plain genius of ken’s all rolled into one.

Blasphemous for me to say this, but I won’t mind if LEC will perform this as the closing track of a concert, instead of Niji.

the silver shining is quite possibly my favorite L’Arc song ever (which is saying something wow) so I’ll forever be pissed that this is yet another song that they’ve forgotten about in lieu of the same old shitty standard setlist that really needs to be retired thanks hyde

also fuck yes I would so opt for a the silver shining ending over niji - don’t get me wrong, niji is a fantastic song but it’s tired and overplayed and wow was it really necessary to end every concert of the last tour with it come on now

All this forever and ever. See also: flower, Blurry Eyes, Ready Steady Go, Driver’s High, even though all love all of them. But they’re overplayed. And “Silver Shining” is amazing.

“Stay Away” can, in fact, stay though. I just have a soft spot for that one, it was the first L’Arc PV I ever saw and I think my second L’Arc song ever.

This is what’s inherently irritating about them.  There’s so much of their catalog I’d love to see performed again, but am nearly certain I’m never gonna hear, say, anata no tame ni or Peeping Tom or Cureless live.  Like ever.  It’s a weird line between being happy they toured and wishing they’d skip the next iteration of Driver’s High for, like, kaze ni kienaide.

But it also sucks, man, my favorite song of theirs has always been Honey, but that’s their highest-selling single ever and I bet if they never played it again they wouldn’t mind.  Some performances they seem utterly bored, so over time I’ve grown to prefer the music video over new performances.

(Which is saying A LOT because I’m advocate number one of the idea that their songs are a million times better live.  Except for Honey.  Except for my most favorite song in the universe, FML.)

Plastic Tree - sunset bloody sunset

The beginning of this song (before the vocals start) is one of my favorite things ever.
