Too Glare, AKA as Anata no Tame Ni, #2 Best of L’Arc~en~ciel C/W

I believe this song was never played in any of their concerts, as Anata no Tame Ni. Not surprising since the song was just a B-Side to Time to Say Goodbye, and the band rarely played B-sides except for the occasional Metropolis and I’m So Happy. 

I have my suspicion that L’Arc~en~Ciel don’t even know about this great song and probably won’t recognize it as one of their compositions. Damn!

considering that hyde forgot that L’Arc had an album titled Kiss when he was naming X X X I’m pretty certain that Anata no Tame ni has been long forgotten, which sucks because it (like nearly all of the other forgotten songs) is fucking fantastic and would be even more fantastic if it were to ever be performed live

also speaking of forgotten B-sides I’ll fucking punch L’Arc right in their faces if they forgot about the ghost in my room because that song is fucking amazing I really don’t get how anyone could forget about that song

The Silver Shining- track # 11 RAY

I cannot post the GCC concert since it exceeds the 5 minutes mark allowance of Tumblr and I can’t find any videos on Youtube of the performance. Except for this leaked DEMO TRACK. Yep. How cool is that? Listening to hyde yodeling in gibberish is just priceless!

Anyhow, this is again one of the least played songs of L’Arc~en~Ciel in their concerts. Totally undeserving for being relegated into the unconsciousness of whoever makes the setlist (which I think is hyde), because really, this song has a great atmosphere- superb vocal arrangement, ethereal music and just plain genius of ken’s all rolled into one. 

Blasphemous for me to say this, but I won’t mind if LEC will perform this as the closing track of a concert, instead of Niji.

the silver shining is quite possibly my favorite L’Arc song ever (which is saying something wow) so I’ll forever be pissed that this is yet another song that they’ve forgotten about in lieu of the same old shitty standard setlist that really needs to be retired thanks hyde

also fuck yes I would so opt for a the silver shining ending over niji - don’t get me wrong, niji is a fantastic song but it’s tired and overplayed and wow was it really necessary to end every concert of the last tour with it come on now

All this forever and ever. See also: flower, Blurry Eyes, Ready Steady Go, Driver’s High, even though all love all of them. But they’re overplayed. And “Silver Shining” is amazing.

“Stay Away” can, in fact, stay though. I just have a soft spot for that one, it was the first L’Arc PV I ever saw and I think my second L’Arc song ever.

This is what’s inherently irritating about them.  There’s so much of their catalog I’d love to see performed again, but am nearly certain I’m never gonna hear, say, anata no tame ni or Peeping Tom or Cureless live.  Like ever.  It’s a weird line between being happy they toured and wishing they’d skip the next iteration of Driver’s High for, like, kaze ni kienaide.

But it also sucks, man, my favorite song of theirs has always been Honey, but that’s their highest-selling single ever and I bet if they never played it again they wouldn’t mind.  Some performances they seem utterly bored, so over time I’ve grown to prefer the music video over new performances.

(Which is saying A LOT because I’m advocate number one of the idea that their songs are a million times better live.  Except for Honey.  Except for my most favorite song in the universe, FML.)
